The first thing on the How To Get Married List was getting the important documents prepared. You wouldn't want to freak out last minute looking for your birth cert that has been in the store for over 10 years would you? So before you move on to the next steps on getting married, here are list of necessary documents to compile.
Get a folder to store all this necessary documents.
- Copy of your IC (min 10)
- Copy of your Birth Certificate (min 3)
- Copy of your Parents' Marriage Certificate (min 3)
- Copy of your guardian's "Wali" IC (min 5)
- A passport photo of you with Songkok(male) / Scarf(female) (min 5)
- Copy of your Pre-Wedding Course Certificate (min 5)
- Written order from the court regarding Wali Hakim, Polygamy / Underage Marriage etc
- Authorization from the Embassy if you're a non-citizen.
- Authorization from your employer (only applies to Polices & Soldiers)
- Acknowledgment Letter from your Employer stating that you are single (for male only).
- Divorce letter if you were once married.
